The appointment line is open Monday to Friday between 8:00-13:00 then 14:15-18:30 or patients can book online or in person at reception.

Car Parking is limited at the practice, so please do not arrive too early for your appointment. If you cannot attend your appointment, please let us know as soon as possible so that your appointment can be offered to another patient. On occasions surgeries can run late because earlier consultations have taken longer than normal or your doctor has been called out to an emergency. We will offer an explanation when this happens but ask for your understanding and patients at such times.

Appointments are released daily at 8am and 2.15pm. Please e reminded that the Doctors have requested that all patients are triaged by a receptionist before they can make an appointment.  This is to ensure you are booked in to see the right clinician. For example, perhaps you may find another health service more suited to your problem such as the pharmacy or St Mary’s Treatment Centre.

Making evening and weekend appointments – giving you more choice

GP practices in this area are making it easier for you to make appointments at times which suit you.

From October, 2017 all practices in south east Hampshire, and Fareham and Gosport – including ours – will take part in a new scheme to allow you to make appointments from 8am to 8pm on week days, from 8am to 4.30pm on Saturdays, and on Sunday mornings.

This extends the normal opening hours for surgeries, which until now have usually run until 6.30pm on weekday evenings.

If you do need to see someone, we will be able to offer you an appointment at your local ‘hub’ location – they are located at Petersfield Community Hospital, Waterlooville Health Centre, Havant Health Centre, Fareham Community Hospital and Gosport War Memorial Hospital.

There, you will be seen by a locally-based healthcare professional – the service is led by GPs but also includes other staff such as nurses, or healthcare assistants. The staff can – with your consent – access your medical records, ensuring a high quality service.

Please note: the new extended opening hours is not a walk-in service – you need to make an appointment.

You can make an appointment online, by talking to our surgery staff and booking a slot in the normal way, or – if we are closed and you think you need to see someone more urgently – you can call NHS 111 to ask to make an appointment.

For more information please contact reception, or see our Question and Answer document.

Routine appointments

Routine appointments are 10 minutes long and may be booked up to 4-6 weeks in advance. These appointments are for one problem only. If you think you need longer you can book a 20 minute appointment, just ask when you speak to Reception.

If you call at 2.15pm for an urgent appointment we offer telephone triage with the Nurse Practitioner or Duty Doctor that afternoon.

Telephone Advice

If you wish to speak to a Doctor or Nurse over the telephone rather than attending the practice  please ask the receptionist when booking and this will be accommodated

Text Messaging Service

Missed appointments increase waiting times for all patients.

80% of missed appointments are due to forgetfulness or patient simply feeling better.

To help improve out patient services, we are sending a free reminder via text before your appointment if we have your mobile phone number. Should you no longer need your appointment early cancellation will enable us to provide care to another patient.

If you are not receiving appointment reminders by text please register with us. It couldn’t be easier. Simply provide your details by filling out the form at reception. The daye before your next appointment you will receive a reminder detailing the date and time direct to your mobile phone.

Practice Nurses

In a number of cases it might be worth considering an appointment with a practice nurse rather than a doctor. Practice nurses are qualified to deal with many ailments and you may be seen more quickly. The nurses are available between 8:30am-6pm Monday to Friday. They are able to deal with many queries that you may be waiting to ask the Doctor so please ask Reception if it is something that is suitable for the Nurse to deal with.

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else.

Please make sure we have your up to date contact numbers as on rare occasions we may need to cancel your appointment and we will need to be able to get hold of you.
